Fast Wednesdays: Week of October 4, 2017 – One Blood, One Love, One Human Family

Greetings Beloved!

This week’s Fast Wednesdays topic is based on my own personal worldview along with many others. Today is one of those times when words are inadequate, inappropriate or really do not matter. In honor of those tragically lost in Las Vegas, NV, those devastated by the recent hurricanes, and oh so many woes of the world, I am limiting my post to be respectful and in honor of them. I am attaching a picture depicting the One Human Family. I took this picture when visiting Key West, FL, years ago.Hopefully, you will find some solace and/or comfort this week by engaging in what gives you meaning, calm and sacred space, similarly.
Scripture: Act 17:26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth.
Writing: One Blood – After all is said, there is but one race – man – and to it every man belongs. All have the same lineage, a common ancestry. Thus man – not kinds – is the master race with dominion over every other creature.
And in the gain or loss of one man the race is lifted or lowered. If there is hope for humanity, we must find it in and for all. Being of the same ancestry, blood should be stronger than prejudice; it is, and in time shall prevail. In this, the rationalism of a common blood, is one hope for civilization.
From “Today is Mine” by Pastor Leroy Brownlow
Quote: We be of one blood, ye and I. – Rudyard Kipling
Song: Bob Marley – One Love
Prayer: Father … Amen…

Reminder AND/OR for those of you just joining us either by contacting me or I personally added you: The purpose of Fast Wednesdays is to draw near to God on this specific day of the week fasting and praying in whatever manner the Holy Spirit is leading you as sisters in Christ…some have fasted from social media, coffee, or observed a traditional fast with no eating from sunrise to sunset with only liquids for the day, no deserts, etc. I know many of us for various reasons participate every week but in different manners. This has still been beneficial and the sisterhood continues to grow!

The key ingredient is that we are doing this together as sisters, of all ages, in the Lord both chronologically and spiritually in accordance to: A God-Filled Life Titus 2:3-5 “Guide older women into lives of reverence so they end up as neither gossips nor drunks, but models of goodness. By looking at them, the younger women will know how to love their husbands and children, be virtuous and pure, keep a good house, be good wives. We don’t want anyone looking down on God’s Message because of their behavior.”  Note: Please share Fast Wednesdays with your friends and/or send me names to add to the distribution list. For now, I will post in three places: email (, Facebook (Debra Fuller Ellis) and blog.
