Fast Wednesdays: Week of August 3, 2016 — The AMEN …

Greetings Beloved!

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth 3 John 1:2

Last week’s topic was Spiritual Malnutrition. I pray that you have been finding ways to feed your soul and those of your family and others around you. Personally, for various reasons, I feel as though I have been in a dry and thristy place but with prayers, reading my bible, studying the word, phone calls, doing other things which help me stay focused and faithful, I believe I am and we are victorious!

Our SCRIPTURE for today comes from one my brother, Frederick O. Fuller, shared on Facebook this a.m. He faithfully shares scripture out there … I know that sometimes his posts help keep me inspired, motivated and encouraged so I thought I would share with you today and pray you will be blessed.

SCRIPTURE:

II Corinthians 1:20 NKJV “For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.”

Related Scriptures:
Romans 15:8-9 CEV – I tell you that Christ came as a servant of the Jews to show that God has kept the promises he made to their famous ancestors. Christ also came, so that the Gentiles would praise God for being kind to them. It is just as the Scriptures say, “I will tell the nations about you,and I will sing praises to your name.”
Rev 3:14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
Col 1:15-18

A snipet of what these scriptures are saying to us:
Christ is the final word (“Amen”), the beginning, the faithful, the true witness and the Creator. All of God’s promises for what the Messiah would be like are fulfilled in him. Jesus was completely faithful in his ministry; he never sinned; he faithfully died for us; and now he faithfully intercedes for us (Romans 8:34; Hebrews 4:14-15).
Study the word of GOD, take it and apply it to our lives, as it will help us in our obedience and every other facet of our life.
SONG:

Fred shared an artist with me, Troy Sneed, awhile ago and this song has blessed me many moments. I hope you find it beneficial today:

PRAYER:
Dear Lord, I pray you will order our steps in your word. Teach us how to deal with sin within and outside ourselves. Bless us with wisdom and help us to use it liberally in all our dealings with others. And, special prayers for all the children and adults going back to school. Reveal to them that what is important is their education and how they live and treat each other. I pray for the bullies that they will cease bullying. I pray for the principals, teacher aids, janitors and maintenance men, cafeteria workers, delivery people, care givers, bus drivers, receptionists, guidance counselors, coaches, and especially the TEACHERS and all else who come into contact with the students. Let us make this year of studying stand for above par. Bless parents who are struggling to provide clothing and supplies. Bless students who need financial aid.

Blessings Lord on my family: my parents, my spouse, my sibilings and their significant others especially Carol and Joan, my child, stepchildren, nieces, nephews, God children, aunties, uncles, cousins, extended family members, adopted family, in-laws, and all I cannot even remember.

Thank you Lord for the AMEN, the beginning, and, ultimately the end, in Jesus name, Amen!

Love, Joy and Peace,

Debra J. Ellis

Reminder AND/OR for those of you just joining us: The purpose of Fast Wednesdays is to draw near to God on this specific day of the week fasting and praying in whatever manner the Holy Spirit is leading you as sisters (and some brothers) in Christ…some have fasted from social media, coffee, or observed a traditional fast with no eating from sunrise to sunset with only liquids for the day, no deserts, etc. I know many of us, for various reasons, participate every week but in different manners. This has still been beneficial and the blog continues to grow!
The key ingredient is that we are doing this together as sisters, of all ages, in the Lord, both chronologically and spiritually in accordance to: A God-Filled Life Titus 2:3-5 “Guide older women into lives of reverence so they end up as neither gossips nor drunks, but models of goodness. By looking at them, the younger women will know how to love their husbands and children, be virtuous and pure, keep a good house, be good wives. We don’t want anyone looking down on God’s Message because of their behavior.”  Note: Please share Fast Wednesdays with your friends and/or send me names to add to the distribution list. For now, I will post in three places: email (djf52055@gmail.com), Facebook (Debra Fuller Ellis) and blog in Word Press: https://fastwednesdays.wordpress.com
