Fast Wednesdays: Week of October 14, 2015 – “F.O.C.U.S on our Purpose”

Greetings Beloved!

F.O.C.U.S – F = Faith, O = Obedience, C = Clarity, U = Unity and S = Success

Let’s reflect on our purpose today … it is to draw near to God on this specific day of the week fasting and praying in whatever manner the Holy Spirit is leading … I/We certainly have lots to fast and pray about so lets look at various fasts, scriptures, etc. to aid and guide as tools … everyone, of course, needs a tool kit for a project, initiative, etc. I like to periodically, at least once a year, go over some basics as I am a firm believer that it helps set and or build a strong foundation. I for one need a strong foundation. The world we live in and those around us will surely help us develop and notice “cracks” in our foundation … but God is faithful and he’s a God of many chances … each day, we all spend time just trying to get “it better” or get it right … be strong, then, my sisters and brothers, in the Lord and the power of his might. Most of us, have power that we never ever tap into … break out into prayer every now and then, instead of complaining about some one being a bully or difficult on the job, and you just might be surprised how much more powerful the pray was than your complaining, and, you discover you have more peace, harmony, grace, mercy and favor! (And, of course, they will look at you side eyed too if they hear your prayers and think you are crazy … that’s called “confounding the devil” HA. HA. HA!

I met with a colleague yesterday and we called it “Ain’t Nut-in too Hard for God” Tuesday … I’m pleased to say, it worked, and we agreed “the harder the problem, the easier for God to handle.”

So, on this Fast Wednesday, may you have breakthrough because of your Faith, Obedience, Clarity, Unity and Success …

Israel & New Breed – Alpha & Omega

There are several types of fasting. The one you choose is between you and God. He will honor your best sacrifice.

Remember that it is the attitude of a heart sincerely seeking Him to which God responds with a blessing (Isaiah 58Jeremiah 14:121 Corinthians 8:8). May God greatly bless you as you fast!

Full Fast
Drink only liquids (you establish the number of days).

The Daniel Fast
Eat no meat, no sweets and no bread. Drink water and juice. Eat fruits and vegetables.

Something to Think and Pray About …Do you ever find reasons that cause you to believe God can’t use you? In the name of Jesus, get those out of your head right now. You are never too old or too young (or too __________) to be used by God.

Reminder AND/OR for those of you just joining us: The purpose of Fast Wednesdays is to draw near to God on this specific day of the week fasting and praying in whatever manner the Holy Spirit is leading you as sisters (and some brothers) in Christ…some have fasted from social media, coffee, or observed a traditional fast with no eating from sunrise to sunset with only liquids for the day, no deserts, etc. I know many of us, for various reasons, participate every week but in different manners. This has still been beneficial and the blog continues to grow!

The key ingredient is that we are doing this together as sisters, of all ages, in the Lord, both chronologically and spiritually in accordance to: A God-Filled Life Titus 2:3-5 “Guide older women into lives of reverence so they end up as neither gossips nor drunks, but models of goodness. By looking at them, the younger women will know how to love their husbands and children, be virtuous and pure, keep a good house, be good wives. We don’t want anyone looking down on God’s Message because of their behavior.”  Note: Please share Fast Wednesdays with your friends and/or send me names to add to the distribution list. For now, I will post in three places: email (, Facebook (Debra Fuller Ellis) and blog in Word Press:
