Dear Lord I thank you for another year that gives me another chance to be a better person. It’s a time which gives me an opportunity to correct the things that have gone wrong and to live a life of joy and goodness. May I always be pleasing to you in everything that I do. Amen!
As you all know, I took a sabbatical from the end of November until now…November and December just get crazy so why, unless the Lord tells me differently, bring on any additional drama for myself by trying to blog. Many of you took the time out to express your thoughts on some of the blogs I have posted, to give me well wishes, etc. so thanks for all the love and encouragement! I am asking you to please send me any topics you would like to discuss this year and, always, always, always, I’m looking for someone who will be a guest blogger for a week or a topic since its always good to hear a different perspective.
While trying to find a topic for this week, I came across this prayer above by a friend on Face Book, and it epitomizes what I was thinking about but struggling to articulate. Reason being was we all know its the New Year and I wanted to say something about it but I wanted to say something that had some substance to it and not just for the sake of recognizing it being a New Year. I was thinking we all get tired of the typical New Year traditions such as setting goals, resolutions and the like with many of them falling off by the wayside before we are even well into the year. I hear the gym is full, I see the advertising for the FitBit bracelets for fitness purposes, Weight Watchers is still one of the number one diets, and, this morning I even heard of a device you could purchase that gives you a shock when you go off your resolution called the Pavlok bracelet (I won’t be purchasing one of those yet:-) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wpsM7g8oxX0
…but this year, I just want to keep it simple and this prayer is eloquently that…as I seek MORE of HIM.

Reminder AND/OR for those of you just joining us: The purpose of Fast Wednesdays is to draw near to God on this specific day of the week fasting and praying in whatever manner the Holy Spirit is leading you as sisters (and some brothers) in Christ…some have fasted from social media, coffee, or observed a traditional fast with no eating from sunrise to sunset with only liquids for the day, no deserts, etc. I know many of us, for various reasons, participate every week but in different manners. This has still been beneficial and the blog continues to grow!
The key ingredient is that we are doing this together as sisters, of all ages, in the Lord, both chronologically and spiritually in accordance to: A God-Filled Life Titus 2:3-5 “Guide older women into lives of reverence so they end up as neither gossips nor drunks, but models of goodness. By looking at them, the younger women will know how to love their husbands and children, be virtuous and pure, keep a good house, be good wives.
