Fast Wednesdays: Weeks of July 23 and 30, 2014 – “Do Not Grow Weary in Well Doing – It is Finished”

Greetings Beloved!

Just returning from three, yes, three, family reunions!

I wonder if I’m being obedient or am I just a sucker for a FAMILY REUNION (no comments please ) all I have to say is I LOVE MY FAMILY, and, especially my extended family, which includes all of you who are all folks I have chosen over the years, and the years have been good to me!

Psalm 133 Contemporary English Version (CEV) – (A song for worship.) Living Together in Peace

133 It is truly wonderful when relatives live together in peace. It is as beautiful as olive oil poured on Aaron’s head[a] and running down his beard and the collar of his robe. It is like the dew
from Mount Hermon, falling on Zion’s mountains, where the Lord has promised to bless his people with life forevermore.

Footnotes: 133.2 head: Olive oil was poured on Aaron’s head to show that God had chosen him to be the high priest.

Point #1 – Verse 1 – I had such a blessed time with my family, and, for the most part, we were together in peace…I’m going to share some pictures and you be the judge as they speak for themselves.

Point #2 – Verse 2 – Olive oil is expensive in our day, so back in Aaron’s day it was even more so precious and expensive…so God was showing Aaron and everyone around Aaron that he was Psalm 139:14 “fearfully and wonderfully made!” Always, always, always remember, that you too are fearfully and wonderfully made…even if your friends, husband, wife, boss, siblings, neighbors, church members, etc. say you are not…especially, as a matter of fact, when they say it!

Point #3 – Verse 3 – God has promised to bless us with life forevermore…all of us who have received salvation, we have this thing called eternal life! Its forevermore and its full of promise… when God makes promises to you, you can take them to the bank, for GOD is not a man, that he should lie (Numbers 23:18). In addition, Mount Hermon and Zion are holy places which could definitely be a study topic at another time.

LOL…after going through my pictures (I wish I could have posted them all), I realize the number of family reunions I attended were more than three! Some were hosted by cousins and families “on the other side.”  Speaking of the other side, any of you like me? I have cousins and we are double related and there’s nothing WEIRD going on in the family tree? For instance, I have a cousin, Desiree Murphy, we are related on her dad’s side of the family and my mom’s side. She’s also related, to my first cousins on my dad’s side/her mom’s side of the family…ummmm…it gets even more complicated, I’ll stop but you get my drift?

Finally, you will note I have “it is finished” in the subject heading. I am so thankful for my recent vacation. I have really been inspired, motivated, recharged, uplifted and encouraged! I don’t feel as weary as I did when I started this topic four weeks ago, I feel like going on, not weary in well doing! That’s a very good thing because I was making many, small mistakes on various matters as I shared with you all. As, I come back from my time away, I plan to cover more on the topic of FASTING and PRAYING. I welcome your input, thoughts, suggestions, comments, and, of course, prayers! (I also highly recommend that you spend some time getting away, if you have not…everyone needs time away, remember Jesus would leave the crowds and go away himself, he’s the ultimate example/role model for obtaining rest and relaxation)!

Reminder: I am always looking for a guest blogger, I know many of you have lots to share and I look forward to hearing from those of you who do!
Bishop Hezekiah  Walker “I Need you to Survive”
Lord, we thank you for our family. For the talents and good things that you have given each of us. Please guide us, protect us and equip us. This day and every day. As we grow together in Your love. Amen.
Love, Joy and Peace,

Debra J. Ellis

Reminder AND/OR for those of you just joining us: The purpose of Fast Wednesdays is to draw near to God on this specific day of the week fasting and praying in whatever manner the Holy Spirit is leading you as sisters (and some brothers) in Christ…some have fasted from social media, coffee, or observed a traditional fast with no eating from sunrise to sunset with only liquids for the day, no deserts, etc. I know many of us, for various reasons, participate every week but in different manners. This has still been beneficial and the blog continues to grow!

The key ingredient is that we are doing this together as sisters, of all ages, in the Lord, both chronologically and spiritually in accordance to: A God-Filled Life Titus 2:3-5 “Guide older women into lives of reverence so they end up as neither gossips nor drunks, but models of goodness. By looking at them, the younger women will know how to love their husbands and children, be virtuous and pure, keep a good house, be good wives. We don’t want anyone looking down on God’s Message because of their behavior.”  Note: Please share Fast Wednesdays with your friends and/or send me names to add to the distribution list. For now, I will post in three places: email (, Facebook (Debra Fuller Ellis) and blog in Word Press:
