Fast Wednesdays: Week of July 2, 2014 – “Do Not Grow Weary in Well Doing – Exhale”

Greetings Beloved!

I’m growing WEARY! And, I’m making “stupid” mistakes because of it…I actually submitted an electronic payment of a bill and I used one account’s routing number and another’s account number…don’t do it…$25 fee! So, thank goodness, vacation time! And, as I post that I realize, once again, just how blessed I am for some people don’t have jobs, others don’t have vacation…thank you Lord, I’m blessed.

Question: Do you ever feel weary even though you are achieving great successes? Let us know!

As for me, some projects and issues that I am working on I have made 70%, 80%, and even 90% progress but at times I feel like throwing in the towel. And, then God comes along and sends me just a minor victory (its like he breathes on me) with a letter in the mail, that has verdict in my favor, and I am energized and feel as though I have the strength for complete closure. I pray that you stay your race because we have a high noise level and so many other distractions which can wear us down and make us give up…hey, even if you give up, God blesses you once you get back up after being knocked down by life, so its a WIN WIN…just get back up!

Scripture:
Galatians 6:9 [Full Chapter] (Message Bible)

So let’s not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good. At the right time we will harvest a good crop if we don’t give up, or quit. Right now, therefore, every time we get the chance, let us work for the benefit of all, starting with the people closest to us in the community of faith.

Galatians 6:9 [Full Chapter] (Good News Translation)

So let us not become tired of doing good; for if we do not give up, the time will come when we will reap the harvest.

Galatians 6:9 [Full Chapter] (Contemporary English)

Don’t get tired of helping others. You will be rewarded when the time is right, if you don’t give up.

[ A David Psalm, When He Was out in the Judean Wilderness ] God—you’re my God! I can’t get enough of you! I’ve worked up such hunger and thirst for God, traveling across dry and weary deserts.

Like a cool drink of water when you’re worn out and weary is a letter from a long-lost friend.

And, here’s some VERY good news!

Isaiah 40:28-29 (Contemporary English Version)
28
Don’t you know? Haven’t you heard? The Lord is the eternal God, Creator of the earth. He never gets weary or tired; hiis wisdom cannot be measured. 29 The Lord gives strength to those who are weary.

FINALLY:
Today’s my mom’s birthday, so of course I have to post her picture and her favorite scripture…this is for you Hazeline Murphy Fuller (Sugar Hone). Happy 76! This year my dear friend lost her mom and others have lost theirs too so I’m going to share mine with you guys like we use to do when we would go on field trips in elementary school and not all the mom’s could come … (you know who you are) … and certainly, I’m going to cherish mine more than ever, for, again, I am blessed!

Hebrews 13:5 [Full Chapter]

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Independence Day Prayer:
Lord, we stand today as our forefathers have stood before You in times gone by,

Celebrating our history and revelling in all the great things that our country has achieved.
On this day we rejoice in the favor You have graciously given us.
We thank You for the blessings of liberty, for this generation and for the generations to come.
We thank You for our independence, peace and for all those who have bravely given their lives in the defence of freedom and justice.
We thank You that Your gracious and provident hand has given us so much.

Yet as a nation and people we have not always chosen the right way.
We ask You to forgive us for these times.
On this day we commit ourselves to wholeheartedly honoring and serving You.
With everything that we are, we lay our lives before You.
Make us a generous people,
A holy nation,
A people set aside to love You forever,
For the sake of the land of the brave and free,
And the peoples and nations of this world.

Today, we do not presume Your grace for our country.
Our land is in need of You,
Our people are in need of You,
Our industry and business is in need of You.
May we look only to You
This Independence Day, dependent on You.

Please come now by Your glorious Holy Spirit,
Breathe new life into the sinews of this nation.
May justice flow like rivers,
And righteousness like a never failing stream,
Until the whole of our country is covered with Your glory,
As the waters cover the sea.

We ask all this in the wonderful name of Jesus,
Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit.
One God, now and for all eternity.
Amen.

God Bless America!
Love, Joy and Peace,

Reminder AND/OR for those of you just joining us: The purpose of Fast Wednesdays is to draw near to God on this specific day of the week fasting and praying in whatever manner the Holy Spirit is leading you as sisters (and some brothers) in Christ…some have fasted from social media, coffee, or observed a traditional fast with no eating from sunrise to sunset with only liquids for the day, no deserts, etc. I know many of us, for various reasons, participate every week but in different manners. This has still been beneficial and the blog continues to grow!

The key ingredient is that we are doing this together as sisters, of all ages, in the Lord, both chronologically and spiritually in accordance to: A God-Filled Life Titus 2:3-5 “Guide older women into lives of reverence so they end up as neither gossips nor drunks, but models of goodness. By looking at them, the younger women will know how to love their husbands and children, be virtuous and pure, keep a good house, be good wives. We don’t want anyone looking down on God’s Message because of their behavior.”  Note: Please share Fast Wednesdays with your friends and/or send me names to add to the distribution list. For now, I will post in three places: email (djf52055@gmail.com), Facebook (Debra Fuller Ellis) and blog in Word Press:  https://fastwednesdays.wordpress.com/
