Fast Wednesdays, May 21, 2014 – “To be Well-Balanced!”

Greetings Beloved!

I want to start out by giving a SHOUT-OUT to all 2014 graduates…HALLELUJAH, in my house for Zane Cole and Alvin Ellis and all the homes of friends and families likewise!

As we start or continue growing in our “Sweet Spot(s)” based on last week’s topic, I am sharing a song below which has been resonating with me over the past month or so. It’s called “If He Did It Before (Same God).” The reason I’m sharing is to remind you (and, myself) that sometimes we go through trials and tribulations but its only a season. If you were operating in your “Sweet Spot” previously, God will bring you back to that place with obedience, patience, and his will being done.

One of the key challenges is we need to be WELL-balanced in our lives because when we are balanced, we are focused on our purpose (which is really will/purposl)!

– definition

1. Made up of various things that form a satisfactory or healthy combination
2. a reasonable well-balanced approach to the problem of hazardous wastes
3.a well-balanced diet (=one that contains a variety of foods and the right amount of protein, vegetables etc): t’s important that children eat a well-balanced diet.
4. a wellbalanced person is sensible and is mentally strong and healthy

5. arranged so as to balance well; a well-balanced load; It’s easier to ride up a mountain with a well-balanced saddle.

Have you been too busy to rest lately or experience being “well-balanced?” If so, THAT’S a problem! For God has given us a spiritual mandate spiritual to rest and we should take him at his word: Exodus 20:8Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.

If you need some helpful hints and tips, you might start viewing the following or any other aids you have on time management.

Blog on Time Management:

(This prayer comes from “Prayers that avail much for the Workplace by Germaine Copeland)

Lord, we come boldly to your throne of grace to receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Forgive us for getting caught up in our own pride. Sometimes, we behave as though we are indispensable at home, at the office, at church and in other situations. We become irritable and fatigued, feeling that no one appreciates all that we do. Help us to step back and take a personal inventory. Our spirits are candles, searching out all the inward parts of our beings. Jesus said, Come to me, all of you who are weary and over burdened, and I will give you rest! Put on my yoke and learn from me. For I am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” (Matt 11:28-30)

Lord, not only are we yoked up with You, but also with our spouse, colleagues and others whom You have sent into our lives. We are not alone, and we cannot carry this alone. Help us to resist the temptation to be yoked together with unbelievers for the sake of  financial profit.

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven. Help us to keep our priorities in order. Help us to fulfill our call and responsibilities at home as a husband/wife and/or parent. While at work, help us to stay focused. Also help us to take time to find rest-relief, ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quite-for our souls. We cast our cares (all anxieties, all worries, all concerns, once and for all) on You, for you care for us affectionately and care about us watchfully. We affirm that we are well-balanced (temperate, sober of mind) vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of ours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring (in fierce hunger), seeking someone to seize upon and devour. In the name of Jesus, we withstand him; firm in faith (against his onset-rooted, established, strong, immovable and determined). And, after we have suffered a little while, You, the God of all grace (Who imparts all blessing and favor), who has called us to his (own) eternal glory in Christ Jesus, will Yourself complete and make us what we ought to be, establish and ground us securely, and strengthen and settle us. To You be the dominion (power, authority, rule) for ever and ever. Amen (so be it).

FITNESS FOCUS (Step by Step):

Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Galatians 5:25 (NIV)

Small steps equal big results. By adding simple habits—sleeping a bit more, moving your body, calming your mind, breathing, playing, serving—you will gradually, day by day, shift into a profound capacity for self-care and healing. Making these small changes move you forward toward better health and vitality while allowing you to see how manageable and doable The Daniel Plan lifestyle can be. —The Daniel Plan Team

“If He Did It Before (Same God)”

Hey, if he did it before, he can do it again
Hey, if he did it before, he can do it again
1,2, 1,2, 1,2,3, go

I won’t give in, no I’m not gonn turn around, yeah
I know I’ll win, if i don’t give up now
I am waiting, for my change to come in I know
He will come through, this is how I’m so sure

If he did it before, he can do it again
Same god right now, same god back then
If he did it before, he can do it again
Same god right now, same god back then

I’ve got power, I know I will overcome
Greater is in me, the fight ain’t fair cause I’ve already won
and yes i may fall, and get knocked down to the ground
I know I’ll rise up, this is how I’m so sure

If he did it before, he can do it again
Same god right now, same god back then
If he did it before, he can do it again
Same god right now, same god back then

Please be, encouraged, this is not the first storm you’ve been through
You’ve been through worse, you didn’t come this far just to lose
He knows your needs, so take no thoughts on what you lost
God will restore, and this is how I’m sure

If he did it before, he can do it again
Same god right now, same god back then
If he did it before, he can do it again
Same god right now, same god back then.

He is same God right now
He is, He is same God right now
He is, same God right now

Same God right now
Same God back then
If He did it before,
He can do it again
Love, Joy and Peace,

Reminder AND/OR for those of you just joining us: The purpose of Fast Wednesdays is to draw near to God on this specific day of the week fasting and praying in whatever manner the Holy Spirit is leading you as sisters (and some brothers) in Christ…some have fasted from social media, coffee, or observed a traditional fast with no eating from sunrise to sunset with only liquids for the day, no deserts, etc. I know many of us, for various reasons, participate every week but in different manners. This has still been beneficial and the blog continues to grow!

The key ingredient is that we are doing this together as sisters, of all ages, in the Lord, both chronologically and spiritually in accordance to: A God-Filled Life Titus 2:3-5 “Guide older women into lives of reverence so they end up as neither gossips nor drunks, but models of goodness. By looking at them, the younger women will know how to love their husbands and children, be virtuous and pure, keep a good house, be good wives. We don’t want anyone looking down on God’s Message because of their behavior.”  Note: Please share Fast Wednesdays with your friends and/or send me names to add to the distribution list. For now, I will post in three places: email (, Facebook (Debra Fuller Ellis) and blog in Word Press:
