As we draw near to God today, in our individual ways, let’s pray for each other on this distribution list in the spirit of NOTHING is impossible with God (Luke 1:37). However, what makes things seem impossible is that we are not be grounded in our faith, not steadfast and unmoveable, believing what others are telling us is not going to happen, what we are seeing in the natural and not believing what the Holy Spirit is revealing to us. And, yes, that takes a Mt. Everest mountain of faith to hold on to our dreams, convictions, and purpose.
2013 has been quite a year for all of us, and in three months, it will be in our rear view mirror. So, what did we do differently when under pressure, how did we grow this year spiritually? I can say we have all grown in our prayer life from the comments, suggestions, and observations made by many throughout the year in Fast Wednesdays. Let us continue to put that growth into practice with prayer today.
I recently went to a Women’s Summit. The Pastor, who spoke told us there are different types of prayers, shared three with us. And, she stated “the ANSWER to every problem is just a little more prayer!”
I am “PAYING THEM FORWARD” to you today. Pray them and let us know what differently happens because I know for sure things are going to change and improve for all of us.
DELIGHT: This is the prayer we do when we get before the Lord and ask for nothing. We just delight in his majesty, glory and brilliance. Psalm 37:4
DESIRE: Based on Mark 11:24, we get before the Lord, and ask, in faith, and we will receive!
DESPERATION: We call on the Lord for help, we don’t know where to go, what to do, but we know the Lord knows and will speak to our hearts.
Did you know our tears are LIQUID LOVE to the Lord? …. Pastor Darlene Bishop
On another note, my dear friend Teresa Dozier, is opening a restaurant at 8 Main Street, Norwalk, CT, 06851, called Mac it! (Specializing in macaroni and cheese)…the Grand Opening is September 13th at 12:00 noon, please stop by and tell her I sent you and share this great news with your friends and family! We want to see her succeed in a BIG way! Note to Teresa: What’s your restaurant phone number?
Dear Lord: Please teach us how to be still and know that you are God, and, how to love on you and each other. Help us to show agape love when our love ones mistreat us, turn their backs on us, do things to hurt us, let us be the bridge, filling the gap, as Christ would do in those situations. We live in a world where we are called weak but we serve a GOD who would call that behavior strong. We love and adore you and thank you for your goodness, mercy and grace. AMEN.
Last but not least, Happy Anniversary, to my boo…Alvin Bernard Ellis, Jr…when a man finds a wife he finds a good thing and favor with GOD!
Love, Joy and Peace,
Debra J. Ellis
Reminder AND/OR for those of you just joining us: The purpose of Fast Wednesdays is to draw near to God on this specific day of the week fasting and praying in whatever manner the Holy Spirit is leading you as sisters (and some brothers) in Christ…some have fasted from social media, coffee, or observed a traditional fast with no eating from sunrise to sunset with only liquids for the day, no deserts, etc. I know many of us, for various reasons, participate every week but in different manners. This has still been beneficial and the blog continues to grow!
The key ingredient is that we are doing this together as sisters, of all ages, in the Lord, both chronologically and spiritually in accordance to: A God-Filled Life Titus 2:3-5 “Guide older women into lives of reverence so they end up as neither gossips nor drunks, but models of goodness. By looking at them, the younger women will know how to love their husbands and children, be virtuous and pure, keep a good house, be good wives. We don’t want anyone looking down on God’s Message because of their behavior.” Note: Please share Fast Wednesdays with your friends and/or send me names to add to the distribution list. For now, I will post in three places: email (firstname.lastname@example.org), Facebook (Debra Fuller Ellis) and blog in Word Press: https://fastwednesdays.wordpress.com/
