Fast Wednesdays, February 6, 2013 — Contracting before Expanding; Going through the Opening

Greetings Beloved!

I am delighted to have my daughter, Nicole Shermaine Fuller, bless us today on the subject topic.

SCRIPTURE:

John 8:12 (KJV) 12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

It is a natural part of being that our lives sometimes contract before expanding.

Sometimes our lives contract before they expand. We may be working hard on ourselves spiritually, doing good in the world, following our dreams, and wondering why we are still facing constrictions of all kinds—financial, emotional, physical. Perhaps we even feel as if we’ve lost our spirituality and are stuck in a dark room with no windows. We may be confused and discouraged by what appears to be a lack of progress. But sometimes this is the way things work. Like a caterpillar that confines itself to a tiny cocoon before it grows wings and flies, we are experiencing the darkness before the dawn.

When things feel tight, it’s easy to panic or want to act in some way to ease the feeling of constriction. We might also spin our wheels mentally, trying to understand why things are the way they are. However, there is nothing we need to do at this time other than to be patient and persevering. We can cling to the awareness that we are processing the shift from one stage to another, and the more we surrender to the experience, the more quickly we will move through the tightness into the opening on the other side. Just like a baby making its way down the birth canal, we may feel squeezed and pushed and very uncomfortable, but if we remember that we are on our way to being born into a new reality, we will find the strength to carry on.

Even as we endure the contractions, we can find peace within ourselves if we remember to trust the universe. We can look to the natural world for inspiration as we see that all beings surrender to the process of being born. In that surrender, and in the center of our own hearts, is a willingness to trust in the unknown as we make our way through the opening. by Madisyn Taylor

PRAYER:   Father God, We Are Walking in a Dark Place Right Now. Loved Ones In My Life Are Struggling with the Day-2-Day Battles of Striving. NEVERTHELESS You Are Our Luminosity! We Have Known Of NO Other Salvation BUT You! Like A Caterpillar That Confines Itself to a Tiny Cocoon before it Grows wings and flies, as a Majestic Butterfly, We are experiencing the Darkness before the Dawn. As a Child In The Womb, Working Down The Canal Toward Life. And RIGHT NOW, We Need You El-Hoim, El-Shaddai, Jehovah Jirah, To Show Up & Show Out In Only Your Miraculous Way.  As We Toil In Darkness, We Await The Dance Shifting Of Your Daylight. Weeping=Night, Joy=Morning. Selah.

Sincerely, Your Beloved……..Nicole

Love, Joy and Peace,

Debra J. Ellis

P.S. Remember, you are a blessing and be a blessing…all that mess that you have been through God is just using you…the battle is not yours it’s the Lord’s!

Here’s my scripture and song for today…

Genesis 50:20 The Message (MSG) 19-21 Joseph replied, “Don’t be afraid. Do I act for God? Don’t you see, you planned evil against me but God used those same plans for my good, as you see all around you right now—life for many people. Easy now, you have nothing to fear; I’ll take care of you and your children.” He reassured them, speaking with them heart-to-heart.

Reminder AND/OR for those of you just joining us either by contacting me or I personally added you: The purpose of Fast Wednesdays is to draw near to God on this specific day of the week fasting and praying in whatever manner the Holy Spirit is leading you as sisters in Christ…some have fasted from social media, coffee, or observed a traditional fast with no eating from sunrise to sunset with only liquids for the day, no deserts, etc. I know many of us for various reasons participate every week but in different manners. This has still been beneficial and the sisterhood continues to grow!

The key ingredient is that we are doing this together as sisters, of all ages, in the Lord both chronologically and spiritually in accordance to: A God-Filled Life Titus 2:3-5 “Guide older women into lives of reverence so they end up as neither gossips nor drunks, but models of goodness. By looking at them, the younger women will know how to love their husbands and children, be virtuous and pure, keep a good house, be good wives. We don’t want anyone looking down on God’s Message because of their behavior.”  Note: Please share Fast Wednesdays with your friends and/or send me names to add to the distribution list. For now, I will post in three places: email (djf52055@gmail.com), Facebook (Debra Fuller Ellis) and blog.
