Greetings — my mom and I are “Biggest Loser” fans and we have an ongoing “date” to watch the show together at her house. Everyone knows we have this date, my husband knows where I’m going and does not ask, family will not call her house during the show, etc. Biggest Loser is a TV show where the goal is to lose weight and the biggest loser wins a prize at the end of the season. Each week there’s drama with folks getting kicked off, etc. and always some “surprising turn of events. Many times you feel bad for the person who gets kicked off that week. Normally, they have lost some weight but they’re just not the biggest loser for the week. A person is kicked off the show based on the amount of body fat they lose which makes the odds even for all. At the end of the show for the week, they typically show the person who was kicked off and how they’re doing at home and many of them have lost quite a bit of weight. They have managed to go through all the drama of getting kicked off the show but still bounce back and continue with their ultimate goal of weight lost. Just like the biggest loser, life throws all types of drama, storms, situations, etc. at us. Ultimately, its about how we “bounce back.” Some of the things thrown at us seem harder than others. Sometimes it seems that its a little thing that makes us give up. Life has a habit of throwing people curve balls that’s why we need to be grounded in a personal relationship with GOD which gives us courage, inspiration and motivation. We ALL fall down but we don’t ALL get up. That’s another reason why we need to be connected to each other. There’s times when someone we know will encourage us or we will encourage them.
Proverbs 27:17 (MSG)
17 You use steel to sharpen steel,
and one friend sharpens another.
As we start out 2013, I’m praying we stay connected, be there for each other and continue to BOUNCE BACK…

Reminder AND/OR for those of you just joining us either by contacting me or I personally added you: The purpose of Fast Wednesdays is to draw near to God on this specific day of the week fasting and praying in whatever manner the Holy Spirit is leading you as sisters in Christ…some have fasted from social media, coffee, or observed a traditional fast with no eating from sunrise to sunset with only liquids for the day, no deserts, etc. I know many of us for various reasons participate every week but in different manners. This has still been beneficial and the sisterhood continues to grow!
The key ingredient is that we are doing this together as sisters, of all ages, in the Lord both chronologically and spiritually in accordance to: A God-Filled Life Titus 2:3-5 “Guide older women into lives of reverence so they end up as neither gossips nor drunks, but models of goodness. By looking at them, the younger women will know how to love their husbands and children, be virtuous and pure, keep a good house, be good wives. We don’t want anyone looking down on God’s Message because of their behavior.”
Note: Please share Fast Wednesdays with your friends and/or send me names to add to the distribution list. For now, I will post in three places: email (email@example.com), Facebook (Debra Fuller Ellis) and blog
