Hope everyone had good holidays and, most of all, spent some quality time with GOD, your families and friends!
In my last blog of the year, dated December 5, I mentioned that “I have made a decision to keep it simple, for the holidays. I will stop and take time to enjoy the reasons we celebrate in the first place versus participating in the chaos of trying to have the perfect tree, get the perfect gifts, send the perfect cards and blogs, etc…The simple truth of Christmas is that God loves us so much that he sent his son, Jesus, who was born and died and gave the ultimate for our salvation.”
With this in mind, I really stuck to my plan and had an amazingly good time and made some super special memories. In my down time, I encountered the scripture below. You see, I’m seeking God for his perfect timing in my life, as I never again want to get ahead or behind God. While its an admirable goal its also a lofty or almost unattainable one as a human being. This scripture has helped me tremendously and blessed me with some peace on this matter. I also came upon a writing that stated: Live for God and you’re likely to be at the right place at the right time. It also said “examine your heart: to whom or what is your greatest loyalty? If you can honestly answer God, you are living for him.
So, I challenge each of you, on this first Wednesday of 2013, examine your heart, reflect upon what comes back to you as an answer and KEEP THE FAITH! He’s a God of a second chance, third, fourth, fifth, and so on…
Ecclesiastes 3, The Message (MSG) Bible
There’s a Right Time for Everything
3 There’s an opportune time to do things, a right time for everything on the earth:
2-8 A right time for birth and another for death,
A right time to plant and another to reap,
A right time to kill and another to heal,
A right time to destroy and another to construct,
A right time to cry and another to laugh,
A right time to lament and another to cheer,
A right time to make love and another to abstain,
A right time to embrace and another to part,
A right time to search and another to count your losses,
A right time to hold on and another to let go,
A right time to rip out and another to mend,
A right time to shut up and another to speak up,
A right time to love and another to hate,
A right time to wage war and another to make peace.
9-13 But in the end, does it really make a difference what anyone does? I’ve had a good look at what God has given us to do—busywork, mostly. True, God made everything beautiful in itself and in its time—but he’s left us in the dark, so we can never know what God is up to, whether he’s coming or going. I’ve decided that there’s nothing better to do than go ahead and have a good time and get the most we can out of life. That’s it—eat, drink, and make the most of your job. It’s God’s gift.
Here’s another couple of scriptures I am reflecting and meditating on as I begin this New Year. Hopefully, they will resonate with you as well and encourage you:
Isaiah 54:17 (Message Bible) but no weapon that can hurt you has ever been forged. Any accuser who takes you to court will be dismissed as a liar. This is what God’s servants can expect. Ill see to it that everything works out for the best.” God’s Decree.
Matthew 6:33 Steep your life in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don’t worry about missing out. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met.
Lord, HELP US!
This is a simple prayer, just three words.
All this Prayer needs is:
1) Faith and
2) Humility then
3) it WORKS!
LORD, silently, how silently, you fill our lives with praise, adorn our lives with goodness, and give light to guide our steps. And joyfully, how joyfully, our hearts reach up to You…our Prince of Peace, our Counselor, Our wonderful, mighty God. — Rebecca Barlow Jordan

Reminder AND/OR for those of you just joining us either by contacting me or I personally added you: The purpose of Fast Wednesdays is to draw near to God on this specific day of the week fasting and praying in whatever manner the Holy Spirit is leading you as sisters in Christ…some have fasted from social media, coffee, or observed a traditional fast with no eating from sunrise to sunset with only liquids for the day, no deserts, etc. I know many of us for various reasons participate every week but in different manners. This has still been beneficial and the sisterhood continues to grow!
The key ingredient is that we are doing this together as sisters, of all ages, in the Lord both chronologically and spiritually in accordance to: A God-Filled Life Titus 2:3-5 “Guide older women into lives of reverence so they end up as neither gossips nor drunks, but models of goodness. By looking at them, the younger women will know how to love their husbands and children, be virtuous and pure, keep a good house, be good wives. We don’t want anyone looking down on God’s Message because of their behavior.”
Note: Please share Fast Wednesdays with your friends and/or send me names to add to the distribution list. For now, I will post in three places: email (firstname.lastname@example.org), Facebook (Debra Fuller Ellis) and blog
