When this undertaking was first put into my spirit, I knew on my own, I could not or would not be able to accomplish it. The assignment,: send out words of encouragement weekly to the generation below me in my family of women who seem to have it even harder than my generation and other women of all generations. I wondered where would I find the words, would I be consistent or just give up? Who would encourage me? A thousand random thoughts passed through my head and still do. I just realized last week, however, we have been at this for over a year. I want to thank GOD, for when he gives us Vision, he makes Provisions! I started out with just three on my distribution list: my niece, Aysha, cousin, Rhonda and daughter, Nicole. We have grown in numbers, 110 and counting, but more importantly, in power, strength and authority in our lives!
Throughout the year we had two guest bloggers, Shylethia Brown Williams and Kim Klunder, a few weeks of sabbatical, some weeks when I thought I was not going to make it, some weeks when I was grateful and thankful for the overflowing blessings of GOD. We had tragedies and triumphs and everything in between.
Here’s our inaugural blog…please share everyone if and how this has blessed you…especially those whom I do not hear from..
We are looking for GOD to show up and show out in our lives as we partake in this prayer and fasting experience. We do not yet know how long or exactly “meals” but we do know we need this discipline.
Let’s start today, Wednesday, October 5, with these scriptures we can refer to as we pray and let GOD lead you into what give up today, if anything … do not despise small beginnings, according to Zechariah:
Zephaniah 3:17 (NIV) – 17 The LORD your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.”
Matthew 6:33 (NIV) – 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Proverbs 27:17 (NIV) – 17 As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.
Philippians 4:13 (NIV) – 13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
2 Corinthians 3:18 (NIV) – 18 And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
Ephesians 3:20 (NIV) – 20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us
Isaiah 40:31 (NIV) – 31 but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Reminder AND/OR for those of you just joining us either by contacting me or I personally added you: The purpose of Fast Wednesdays is to draw near to God on this specific day of the week fasting and praying in whatever manner the Holy Spirit is leading you as sisters in Christ…some have fasted from social media, coffee, or observed a traditional fast with no eating from sunrise to sunset with only liquids for the day, no deserts, etc. I know many of us for various reasons participate every week but in different manners. This has still been beneficial and the sisterhood continues to grow!
The key ingredient is that we are doing this together as sisters, of all ages, in the Lord both chronologically and spiritually in accordance to: A God-Filled Life Titus 2:3-5 “Guide older women into lives of reverence so they end up as neither gossips nor drunks, but models of goodness. By looking at them, the younger women will know how to love their husbands and children, be virtuous and pure, keep a good house, be good wives. We don’t want anyone looking down on God’s Message because of their behavior.”
