Fast Wednesdays, October 17, 2012 — Be Encouraged (Isaiah 54:17)

Greetings Beloved!

Isaiah 54:17 The Message (MSG)11-17 but no weapon that can hurt you has ever been forged. Any accuser who takes you to court will be dismissed as a liar. This is what God’s servants can expect. I’ll see to it that everything works out for the best.” God’s Decree.

Our topic for today is based upon the following statement: “our greatest opposition comes right before our greatest break through.” Therefore, if you’re struggling today, “get ready, get ready, get ready” for your break through is at hand. I just want to send a word of encouragement to all of you and to myself that our break through is upon us. Many of us have been or are going through an unbelievable season of “crazy” happenings but I am reminded, as we transition from summer to fall, yes, even here in FLORIDA, that most seasons do not last forever.

Fasting Scriptures:

Isaiah 58; 2 Chronicles 20:1-4; Ezra 8:21-23; Nehemiah 1:1-4; Matthew 4:1-11

Fasting Tips:

1) Drink plenty of water.

2) Ask a family member or friend to fast with you.

3) Walk or do light exercise as your energy level allows.

4) Make sleep at night a priority.

5) Prepare yourself for physical and emotion side effects.

6) Stay positive. Your sacrifice will be worth it!

Hopefully everyone has been challenged to do something healthier in the area of exercise. Yesterday I spent about three hours outside working in the yard and the results look so good today, I wish I had time to be outside again today! Allow yourself to think of any way you can get moving, if you’re not, and stay safe if you are moving, in terms of exercise. I shared the following last week and I know there’s at least three of us who have accepted the challenge. Today is the fourth day of the “40 Day Gratitude Walk” … its never too late to join, stay positive.

Dear Lord, as we spend time with you today in personal relationship, help us to enjoy the quiet meditation and sweet communion that bonds us together and gives us encouragement and peace, knowing that we will finish what you have started within us, that we are more than conquerors and “WE” can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.” Amen.

Love, Joy and Peace,

Debra J. Ellis

Reminder AND/OR for those of you just joining us either by contacting me or I personally added you: T
he purpose of Fast Wednesdays is to draw near to God on this specific day of the week fasting and praying in whatever manner the Holy Spirit is leading you as sisters in Christ…some have fasted from social media, coffee, or observed a traditional fast with no eating from sunrise to sunset with only liquids for the day, no deserts, etc. I know many of us for various reasons participate every week but in different manners. This has still been beneficial and the sisterhood continues to grow!

The key ingredient is that we are doing this together as sisters, of all ages, in the Lord both chronologically and spiritually in accordance to: A God-Filled Life Titus 2:3-5 “Guide older women into lives of reverence so they end up as neither gossips nor drunks, but models of goodness. By looking at them, the younger women will know how to love their husbands and children, be virtuous and pure, keep a good house, be good wives. We don’t want anyone looking down on God’s Message because of their behavior.”

Note: Please share Fast Wednesdays with your friends and/or send me names to add to the distribution list. For now, I will post in three places: email (, Facebook (Debra Fuller Ellis) and blog
