Fast Wednesdays, July 4, 2012 — Happy July 4, 2012 USA (From July 4, 1776, 236 Years)

Beloved:

Remember:
1 Corinthians 10:13
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

I was sharing with my daughter, Nicole, yesterday that we would take a break today from FAST WEDNESDAYS and enjoy our day with family, friends and fireworks! We discussed how Rodney King passed recently. And, we both chuckled when I mentioned “Can we all get along?’” “I hope that still resonates throughout the country today though and we do all indeed continue making efforts to “get along.”

BATTLE HYMN OF THE REPUBLIC (Song by Whitney Houston)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aSvH4s-4sCQ

"The Battle Hymn of the Republic" melody beginning

Lyrics

Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord:
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;
He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword:
His truth is marching on.
(Chorus)
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.
I have seen Him in the watch-fires of a hundred circling camps,
They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps;
I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps:
His day is marching on.
(Chorus)
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
His day is marching on.
I have read a fiery gospel writ in burnished rows of steel:
“As ye deal with my contemners, so with you my grace shall deal;
Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with his heel,
Since God is marching on.”
(Chorus)
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Since God is marching on.
He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat;
He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment-seat:
Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him! be jubilant, my feet!
Our God is marching on.
(Chorus)
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Our God is marching on.
In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea,
With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me:
As He died to make men holy, let us die to make men free,
While God is marching on.
(Chorus)
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
While God is marching on.
He is coming like the glory of the morning on the wave,
He is Wisdom to the mighty, He is Succour to the brave,
So the world shall be His footstool, and the soul of Time His slave,
Our God is marching on.
(Chorus)
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Our God is marching on.

Dear Lord…may you continue to order my steps and lead me into all truth. May you give me the courage to hear things about myself that are unpleasant even though most times I don’t want to hear them so that I may continue to grow into the total diva you designed. Give the person delivering the words, a tongue that is seasoned with grace and mercy so that I receive them as needed.

Let us enjoy, maximize and share the freedoms and liberties you have given us not just here in America but to all our friends in Africa, Europe, Asia, and North and South America as well as the ones I have not yet met in Australia and Antarctica!

We praise you…when the praised go up the blessings come down. AMEN!

Love, Joy and Peace!

One of the many “spots” I have been walking during my stay here in Durham, NC, and one of my favorite flowers, hydrangea.
