Fast Wednesdays, April 18, 2012 — Abundant Life Part III

Greetings Fast Wednesdays FAMILY:

Today, I am taking a hiatus from sending information on a new or various topics because I want us to pause, reflect and APPLY more some of the knowledge sent previously. Also, I will be traveling for the next three days, driving quite a bit, which is one of my favorite things to do…I feel like I am dropping my cares behind me on long drives and growing up my family constantly took long trips. Additionally, my dad was a truck driver and he was always teaching us lessons through the rules of the road, guess it was TRUCK DRIVER parables and there’s definitely so good ones!

I can’t believe how blessed we are to have been at this for six months now! Therefore, I am looking for feedback and someone will be selected for a prize, a bigger prize for someone who provides feedback on the blog site directly…

Our primary scripture for today:

Ecclesiastes 3:13 (CEV)13 because God’s gift to us is the happiness we get from our food and drink and from the work we do.


Here’s our first post ever for reflection: 

Fast Wednesdays, October 5, 2011, Prayer and Fasting (Timeline: To Be Determined)*

We are looking for GOD to show up and show out in our lives as we partake in this prayer and fasting experience. We do not yet know how long or exactly “meals” but we do know we need this discipline.

Let’s start today, Wednesday, October 5, with these scriptures we can refer to as we pray and let GOD lead you into what give up today, if anything … do not despise small beginnings, according to Zechariah:

Zephaniah 3:17 (NIV) – 17 The LORD your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.”

Matthew 6:33 (NIV) – 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Proverbs 27:17 (NIV) – 17 As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.

Philippians 4:13 (NIV) – 13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

2 Corinthians 3:18 (NIV) – 18 And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

Ephesians 3:20 (NIV) –  20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us

Isaiah 40:31 (NIV) – 31 but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

Prayer: Father, in the name of Jesus, as we continue to seek you and live the abundant life you have planned for us, thank you for equipping us with everything we already need to sustain us. Keep our minds clear, focused and uncluttered from life’s challenges but encouraged, whole and sound to hear and see the mysteries you unveil and reveal to us consistently…AMEN!

Reminder & for those of you just joining us either by contacting me or I personally added you: The purpose of Fast Wednesdays is to draw near to God on this specific day of the week fasting and praying in whatever manner the Holy Spirit is leading you as sisters in Christ…some have fasted from social media, coffee, or observed a traditional fast with no eating from sunrise to sunset with only liquids for the day, no deserts, etc. I know many of us for various reasons participate every week but in different manners. This has still been beneficial and the sisterhood continues to grow!

The key ingredient is that we are doing this together as sisters, of all ages, in the Lord both chronologically and spiritually in accordance to: Titus 2 — A God-Filled Life 3-5Guide older women into lives of reverence so they end up as neither gossips nor drunks, but models of goodness. By looking at them, the younger women will know how to love their husbands and children, be virtuous and pure, keep a good house, be good wives. We don’t want anyone looking down on God’s Message because of their behavior.
